Confidence in Style: A Mindset, Not a Trend

What actually makes you feel confident?

It might be the community you surround yourself with, the playlist you put on to kickstart your day or lift your mood, or the way your morning unfolds. Sometimes it’s what you wear. Other times, it has nothing to do with that at all. It shifts.

But when you strip it back, confidence isn’t something you put on, it’s something you carry. And personal style sits alongside it. Not as a performance, but as a reflection.

At Fressko, when we talk about confidence and style, we’re not talking about trends or even Fashion, We’re talking about it as something more personal. A belief system. A way of showing up in the world that feels honest and considered, where style becomes a language for identity, confidence, and self-expression.

Because true style isn’t defined by clothing alone. It’s shaped by identity, by what you’re drawn to, and by the confidence to express that without second-guessing it. It’s the ease of moving through your day feeling like yourself, comfortable, grounded, and clear in who you are.

To explore this idea beyond theory, we spent time with five Melbourne creatives, who naturally embody this way of thinking through how they live and work. Not in a studio, or on a set, but in their own spaces. Observing how they work, how their work unfolds, and how they interact with the people around them. The small, unfiltered moments that shape their day. We were witness to what confidence looks like in practice, not performance. Because that is exactly where it lives, in the inbetween.

Kayla Moon, Alice Edgely, Chadley Camp, Erik Yvon, and Daniel Demesgen all operate in completely different worlds, to some degree.

Kayla runs a floristry business - xflos__ and creative space in Collingwood, transforming what was once a basement into something that shifts between flowers, events, and community.

Alice is a renowned fashion and costume designer within Melbourne’s creative scene, known for her signature ms_edgeley designs, dressing Australian talent, surrounded by fabric, colour, and years of craft, building each piece by hand.

Chad has created a space, Little Homey Cafe in the heart of Brunswick that feels less like a cafe, and more like a meeting point for mates, artists and local community.

Erik Yvon designs bold, expressive fashion pieces from his studio, using texture and colour as a form of communication; his work is often seen on catwalks and in Vogue editorials.

Dan works behind the lens, under the name stillsbydaniel. capturing identity through photography in a way that feels honest and considered.

Different disciplines, aesthetics and daily rituals, yet across each of their stories a common thread began to emerge. Woven together, are a story of authenticity, self-expression, each of their stories unveiled a shared perspective. Confidence for each of them is about comfort, self trust and backing yourself.

None of them are trying to replicate someone else. There’s no interest in imitation, only in building something that feels true to them.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more and stepping into their worlds through a series of visual stories. A closer look at their spaces, their routines and a glimpse into their world of self-expression, creativity, and how confidence shows up in their everyday lives, or have built over time.

To mark the season, we’ve introduced four new colourways across our reusable drinkware collection. Slate, Pinot, Espresso and Bondi.

Inspired by the tones of everyday moments, morning coffee, late nights, the spaces in between each colour is designed to move with you. Not as a statement, but as part of your routine. Something that fits into your day, however that looks.
